JOH – Jorge Humberto’s paintings developed closely alongside his sculptures. His work highlights the sublimity of colour, the liberation of form, and the deconstruction of light, in a deliberately abstract language. Mónica Thudichum’s art reveals a constant lulling, a coming and going of material evocative of the dialogue between nature and the painter. She conjugates, renovates, and transcends each moment; each brushstroke like a recital of synthesised images. Soft colours, natural themes suggest a detachment and validate the aesthetic options at the work’s essence.
This exhibition translates an intimacy, that which is drawn between two works, by two artists of two generations which in ALI will improvise a dialogue. The idea of uniting these two artistic languages within the blankness of ALI generates a visual contrast which celebrates the extreme clarity of each modus operandi.
