WALKSHOP A WORKSHOP OF STEPS
Night goes to bed late. An evening’s promise. On this natural terrace facing the reservoir, the choir of olive trees awaits participants in this first Workshop of Steps at Convento da Terra. The program: a tuning practice that combines the study of the body, breathing, senses/perception and the natural environment.

Pedro Ramos, creator and mentor of the  Order of the O, dancer and choreographer, introduces – Terra de Almagre – the practice of movement, viewing the Body as a psychophysical unit – “a piece of nature to be known.”  Through immersive movement, the practice invites you to dive  into a particular attunement of consciousness with the body – breathing leitmotiv  linking consciousness to movement simultaneously in the biological and spiritual dimensions.

This performative walk in the olive grove with extraordinary views of the Vale do Gaio reservoir – Terra de Almagre – opens the path and pretext for tuning into the more-than-human world. More than going somewhere, time is here within a place, an immersive connection with nature through our senses. The natural environment – the earth – is a door to the vast interior and exterior.  Our silence, experiences, and ecotopian visions will be shared in words and gestures.
