Plastic Dialogue
This exhibition translates an intimacy, that which is drawn between two works, by two artists of two generations which in ALI will improvise a dialogue. The idea of uniting these two artistic languages in the blankness of this space generates a visual contrast that celebrates the extreme clarity of their two modus operandi.

JOH – Jorge Humberto’s paintings developed closely alongside his sculptures. His work highlights the sublimity of colour, the liberation of form, and the deconstruction of light, in a deliberately abstract language. Its spirit begins by attaching itself to its new address. It surrenders to material and frees it. The lower it reaches, the higher it rises… because it is a relationship born of the spontaneous labyrinth of creative anticipation. From the fertile occasion of chance. Here, to speak of painting is to speak of attitude! Even if both are vast in essence, they indicate the empty space fitting of that primordial existence. Emptiness is realized, the most abstract and sincere form . And what is projected or manifested, beyond this initial vacuum, describes the most potentially elevated singularity of that act by that very principle, its motives obscured. By the structuring elements and materials which exalt the nature of pictorial phenomenon, these works walk inspired by themselves.

Mónica Thudichum’s art reveals a constant lulling, a coming and going of material evocative of the dialogue between nature and the painter. She conjugates, renovates, and transcends each moment; each brushstroke like a recital of synthesised images. Soft colours, and natural themes suggest a detachment and validate the aesthetic options at the work’s essence.
